The Autumn Tag | 2020

Before this season ends and we're fully catapulted into a morbid British winter, I thought I'd really drag out this autumn thing. Just in case I hadn't featured the autumnal season enough on my blog already, here's a tag all about autumn...

For this tag I’ve combined questions from Meg Says’ and Beauty and the Bookshelves autumn tag to make my own.

Favourite Starbucks drink?

I haven’t been to Starbucks at all this season, I’ll be honest, even though I do LOVE a Starbucks coffee. However I have been really enjoying  Costa’s seasonal drinks – especially their After Eight and Terry’s Chocolate Orange hot chocolates. I’m now on a bit of a hot chocolate kick and was hunting down a nice instant mint hot chocolate in the aisles of Asda yesterday. I look forward to one every evening now.

Favourite music to listen to?

Please reserve the need to judge but I’m now listening to Christmas songs. I think we can all agree this year has been one we’d like to forget, so what better way than to look forward to the best and last thing that’s left? Christmas! I’ve been really liking Kelly Clarkson – Underneath The Tree, Ariana Grande – Santa Tell Me, and Mabel – Loneliest Time of the Year.

Favourite autumn lip product?

I have a boring answer and a less boring answer for this one. I’ll start with the boring answer… My lips around this time of year are dry AF so I love using my Vaseline Rosy Lips day and night to combat this. I’m also really liking a sample I received in my Birchbox this month – it’s the REALHER Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade ‘I Decide My Destiny’. It’s a warmer colour than I’d usually wear but for this time of year it’s perfect. Paired with a smoky golden brown eye look it’s even better.

What do you love most about autumn?

I’d say the leaves falling off the trees displaying all those gorgeous shades of orange, red, and brown. Sounds super cringy but I just love the idea that everything is starting a new… and I think we all need a new after the tragedies of 2020!

Go-to autumn accessories?

Definitely a big cosy scarf. Something that you can throw over a coat or jacket to keep you warm can actually really bring an outfit together as well. The feature image shows my favourite scarf at the moment but if you would like to see it styled then take a look at my recent outfit of the day post. I’d also say it’s a staple to have a good pair of leather boots because I wear them with everything – from short skirts and dresses with tights to long maxi skirts to leggings and jeans. My favourite pair are from Kurt Geiger and can be seen on my Instagram.

What is one candle you MUST light every autumn?

Red Raspberry by Yankee Candle. It just fills the room with a gorgeous, fruity scent that really makes me look forward to Christmas.

Do you prefer apple pie or pumpkin pie?

Apple pie because I’ve never actually tried pumpkin pie before. There’s nothing better than warm apple pie drizzled with custard. That’s actually making me hungry now!

Do you have any autumn traditions?

Not typically. I do like going for walks more in autumn as I find the temperature being a lot cooler makes it enjoyable. Plus, like I said, I love walking through all the colourful leaves. I’d hoped to go to a pumpkin patch, pick my own, and carve them at home this year but didn’t have this idea until it was too late. Next year will be a better year, so I’d definitely like to make some new traditions then! Maybe stick on a few Halloween movies too because I LOVE scary films.

Favourite autumn nail polish?

I love wearing a bright and bold red during autumn. Well to be honest, the moment we’re into October it’s all about red for me. Red everything! I find red nail polish just instantly spruces up any outfit and it’s really easy to style too. My favourite at the moment is Rimmel – Double Decker Red.

What are you most looking forward to after the autumn season is over?

Christmas, of course! I’m looking forward to Christmas-themed movies (particularly The Holiday and Home Alone), snuggly pyjamas and blankets, hearty meals, festive chocolates, warm drinks, wrapping presents, MORE Christmas music, and generally just that festive feeling. It’s my absolute favourite time of the year.
