It’s been a long time coming, I know, but I’m finally writing a new blog post after over SIX months of inactivity on Not So Secret Diary. What a terrible blogger I am…
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen on there that I covered a few bits about my absence from blogging and creating content. I was saving most of it to cover in this post but I had mentioned that, basically, I’ve just had a bit of a manic 2021 so far. A LOT has changed for me since my last post last Christmas and I’m truly the happiest I’ve been in my whole life.
But before we get into all of that, I just want to say hello and I’m back! Coming back to Not So Secret Diary, I’ll be blogging weekly, and typically posting every Saturday (because it’s the weekend and I defo have more time then). However, if my posts don’t always fall on that day then it’s really no biggie, is it? That’s just to give you a rough idea when you can expect some new content.
I’ve got SO many fresh content ideas up my sleeve for my blog and also my Instagram account, so make sure you’re following me on there too. I won’t give too much away in terms of what I have planned because I don’t want to spoil things BUT I will let you in on a secret… I’m going to be starting a new home design blog feature, where I basically show you around each room in my house (yep, I moved into my own house!) and talk about all things interior design.
If you hadn’t already noticed, I’ve redesigned my logo too. I just feel like this new design is way more suited to the style of my blog and it also just generally feels a lot more ‘me’. Because obviously I love to just write, write, write!
SO, now on to the life updates…
I bought my first home with my partner
If you’re my friend or part of my family then you’ll already know most of this stuff. However, if you’re anybody else then you might not. To start with, my boyfriend and I (now my fiance 😉 ) moved into a beautiful house we now call home at the end of February. We’d been saving a lot of money throughout the pandemic due to barely leaving the house and managed to secure ourselves a mortgage.
I’ve been thinking of writing a post tailored to first-time buyers and what our personal experience was like. That’s something I will probably do because I know when it was our time reading other people’s advice definitely was helpful.
I’m a fiancée!
Secondly, I got engaged! Yep, the amazing man you’ve probably seen featured on my blog before POPPED THE QUESTION! It was a dream come true the way it happened. He proposed on the first night we spent in our perfect little home and it was honestly the best day of my life. As far as wedding planning goes though, we haven’t really started anything. We’d LOVE to get married abroad and are thinking Santorini (dream wedding destination) but probably not until 2023. So, that’s a little while off yet. Although, being a typical woman, I’ve already picked my shoes out!
We welcomed a third family member…
Then in July, we made a third addition to our happy little family. We welcomed our beautiful cocker spaniel puppy, Milo. If you’re not following him on Instagram head over and give him a follow for some majorly adorable daily pupdates. He has quite the following so far and he’d love for you to keep up with his journey of all things pup-related!
Finally – I got a new job
This was definitely a long time coming for me. I was working in the travel industry before I changed jobs, which became extremely difficult when the pandemic hit. Working in a marketing department when you can’t market or sell any holidays is pretty pointless!
Not only that, I’d definitely served my time in that role and I just wanted a new challenge. I’ve now joined a fantastic digital marketing agency, where I have the chance to work with all sorts of clients. No day is the same and I’m so happy to be a part of something new and different. It’s also taught me a lot about social media and building brand awareness, which are things I’m really keen to implement on Not So Secret Diary.
So basically, nearly everything in my life that could’ve changed, basically has. But things are great, like really great. I couldn’t be happier.
Now we’re all up to speed with everything, you can keep your eyes peeled for lots of exciting new content coming in the coming weeks and months.
It’s good to be back!
